Do you know the story of the polywag and the caterpillar? There once was a tadpole and a caterpillar who were friends. The caterpillar would tell the tadpole how she'd turn into a butterfly later and the tadpole was really envious. When the caterpillar made her cocoon she asked the tadpole to stay close for she was a bit nervous about the change... All the time the caterpillar was changing, the tadpole stayed close, without noticing he was changing too...

I thought this particular toy from Folkmanis was the PERFECT accessory to tell that story. It's a long retired design so I was both happy and lucky to find it rather cheap on eBay. I'm still looking for the similar caterpillar which can be turned inside out to change into a butterfly to match it. :)
