On June 16th 2007, the Animal Rescue Network had an information stand at Metro Mont-Royal. I was available and decided to drop by with Philomène.
Meet the gang! The one in the hat, standing on the left, is my Mom. She was one of my spotters that day. I had two spotters because it was a really hot day and there are a LOT of people at a metro station. I wanted to make sure I was covered. Plus she's real good with kids. :)
I took a picture with my Daddy. He is always so amazed at what his daughters can do!
Go! Go! Go Philo! Catch those bubbles if you can!
That kid got a very special cheer from Philo because he gave a whole 5$ for the donation box! Hurray! Also, you see that asian woman behind me? The poor thing got quite a scare because she hadn't seen or heard me coming and I hugged her from behind. It was a bad choice on my part, but she did laugh of it afterwards.
Even hyperactive kitties like Philomène need breaks once in a while...
And so did I! Pfou! That was HOT!!!
There was a plant shop right beside our stand... Philo being the little "Weed Eater" that she is, just HAD to go have a look.
Just for the record, they didn't.
But as I was coming out of the plant shop, this elderly woman made a squeel of delight and started blabbering in polish (she mumbled something meaning she did not speak french) and meowing to me. She seemed so happy to hug me and give me scritches, I almost thought she would cry. It was really sweet. :)
Philo spent the day entertaining kids of every age. It was a real pleasure to watch all those smiles suddenly appear on people's faces.
Either that weiner dog thought I was going to eat him, either he wanted to eat me. How can such a loud bark come out of such a small dog is beyond me.
Aaaah, what a guy wouldn't do to please his girlfriend... even hug the giant kitty for a picture.... ;)
I spent most of my day running from one hug to the other. Some people completly ignored me, some were harder to get but eventually turned, and some were plain happy to hug the kitty. :)
This lil guy made my day. He was absolutely adorable and kept saying "Hey, Cat!"
After such a hard day's work, no wonder Philo is having a well deserved rest. It's a hard job being a super star.
Disclaimer : I have pictures of random people I met on the street in there and I forgot to ask their permission. Please, if you see the picture of you or someone you know and would rather have me take it down from my website, let me know and I'll do it right away.
